Donegal Elementary School

We thought you would enjoy seeing the project our Second Grade Jr. Engineers did in Technology class. We began our Space Unit a few weeks ago. We have read the books, If You Decide To Go To Space and The Magnificent Thing. Since the little girl built something magnificent, the second graders built magnificent space suits. They had to keep in mind an astronaut must stay warm, cool, and be protected from space debris when on the moon. The students were broken into groups and had to pick two materials out of five. After building their astronaut each group had to tell us why they chose the two materials, which layer was protective, warm, and cool. The kids did a great job!!
