Meet the Teacher
Hi! My name is Miss Malara and this is my fourth year teaching in the Mt. Pleasant Area School District. I am the learning support teacher at Donegal Elementary. There's nothing I love more than being a teacher and I want to be able to make this the best year yet for you and your child. One of my favorite quotes is, "Parents are a child's first and most important teachers." They would not be where they are today without your love and continuous support. All of us working together as a team will greatly add to your child's success throughout the school year.
I was born and raised in Mount Pleasant. I attended Rumbaugh/Ramsay Elementary before graduating from Mount Pleasant Area Junior/Senior High School in 2011. Throughout high school, I was involved in soccer, basketball, and track. Fun fact... You can find my name on the 1,000 points banner in the junior high gym! In May of 2015, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education with a dual certification in Elementary and Special Education from Seton Hill University. I am currently in the process of earning my master's degree in Early Childhood Education through California University of PA. My younger brother's name is Marcus. He also graduated from Mount Pleasant. I am engaged to my fiancé, Brandon, and we are getting married next summer! In my spare time, I enjoy staying active, being outdoors, going to Steeler games, and spending time with friends, family, and my one-year-old golden retriever named Hudson. I can't wait to get to know you and your child better this school year! If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
