About Your Nurse...
The goal of the MPASD school nurses is to optimize your students academic learning by keeping them healthy and meeting their healthcare needs here in the school setting.
I graduated from Minot State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. My husband and I were stationed at Minot Air Force Base in Minot North Dakota while my husband served in the United States Air Force. I was employed for 25 years as Medical Oncology Nurse. During this time, I worked at Uniontown Hospital, UPMC Cancer Clinics and with Drs. James and Alan Bress. Being in Oncology, compassion and advocacy were and still are part of my everyday life. I never thought I could love a job more than caring for my cancer patients until now, being a school nurse and caring for children.
I received my School Nurse Certification from Slippery Rock University. I have worked for Mount Pleasant Area School District since 2014 as a Nurse’s Aid at Ramsay and Donegal prior to my role as Certified School Nurse. I live in Connellsville, PA with my husband and daughter and my son lives in Savannah, Georgia. My family is active in church and I enjoy all outdoor activities! I may not be good at all of them, but I love them!
Please feel free to call me or email me anytime you have a question or concern regarding your child's health while they are here at school. Thank you visiting my website.
