I began teaching in the Mt. Pleasant Area School District after graduating from Slippery Rock University in 1988. I worked as an elementary librarian at Donegal and Ramsay Elementary for four years before moving to a kindergarten position at Rumbaugh Elementary. I received my Masters Degree in Education from Indiana University of PA in the area of school counseling in 1992. After 12 years of teaching kindergarten I moved to a first grade position at Rumbaugh Elementary and in 2012 moved to Donegal Elementary where I currently teach first grade. I completed a Masters Degree program in 2010 from Indiana University in the area of employment and labor relations.
I live in Latrobe with my son Nicholas and beagle Duke. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child this year.
There probably isn't a year in your child's education that you will see more growth than first grade. It is amazing to watch them soar through the year, and see their skills develop so quickly. Enjoy the year and don't hesitate to call or email me if you have any concerns.
